last weekly blog

this week was an easy week or me. Tuesday we just reviewed on anothers papers and made corrections. Thursday we learned how to use movie maker. I am glad we learned how to use this because i didn't even know i had this on my computer. I think i did ok on my project 2 paper, but i am having a hard time keeping a log of my cell phone because i use it soooo much. i have a few pages already and i am only on day 4. I'm glad nicole made this our last week of blog posts, because its one thing i dont have to try and remember to do. Project 4 is going to be a long on and i kind of cant ait for it to really get rolling and then be over.

Weekly post oct 21-31

this week we just worked on project 3 and did a lot to help us with project 3. She gave us a lot of useful information on how to do quotes ad cite sourced. I think her doing the quote hamburger was very helpful since we need to have quotes and stuff in our paper. I'm having trouble getting my thoughts together for this paper an every time i start writing it i feel like i am repeating myself. I don't feel like i have enough facts helping me prove my point but i don't want to have to much information because then it will sound to much like a research paper. I think its because this has been a busy eek for me and i haven't had my head clear enough to write this paper.

blog week of the 20th

this week we did a lot of different things to get us ready to write the paper. I really like that she showed us that site so that we can find resources but we don't have to go to the library for most of it. I didn't like the rebuttal thing we had to do though because i guess i took it in the wrong way and once we talked about it i saw another side of it. Then she told us why it was written and it totally made sense. The brainstorm thing on the bubbl site was awesome i actually might use that a lot for paper ideas. it really helped get my brain going on ideas. i dont think the blog we did in class helped that much but reading over the things she poseted gave me some good ideas.

questions for project 3

1. that uniforms should be kept in private schools and for military

2. need for individuality, always be judgment from peers uniforms wont stop that, who wants to wear the same thing 5 days a week, cost, and intruders from other schools

3. the cost, individuality, or that intruders can still make there way into a school with uniforms and might be spotted easier but it still can happen.

4. costs less, everyone will feel better, intruders will be spotted easily

HW post

for several days now we have been seeing things about the economy and what Bush is going to do about it and what the presidential candidates are going to do about it. also there are smaller things in the daily kent stater about DUI's on bikes. I think thats the economy is much more important then DUI on a bike. We are never gong to see the end of the economy thing because it is going o take a lot of work to fix it. everyone is doing research on ways to help our economy but everything turns out the same and not that much is ever done about it.

weekly post oct 13-19

This week i class we started talking about project 3. This one worries me most out of all three projects because we have to have sources and pictures in the paper. Also, we are aloud to write about anything we can argue. I think i am going to have a hard time picking a topic because i have no idea what i want to write about. I did a web search on most common papers that are argued and that didn't even narrow it down. W also did that 500 word thing which my group could not get to make 500 words but we did learn about the cannons of rhetoric which was pretty cool. We also made that newspaper article which was pretty neat i just wish i knew how to use the different tools the computer has to of made the newspaper look more realistic. I think doing the newspaper and the 500 word essay will in the end help with project 3.

Weekly blog thursday 19th

This week was really easy and all we did was work on our projects. I think it really helped having someone else read my paper and give me there feedback. Also I am really bad at reading my own papers to find mistakes because I usually just skim it and miss everything. I'm still a little worried I am missing something in my paper. I'm still not sure about a lot of things like the placement of my picture or if I am 100% correct on the way I explained my ethos pathos and logos. This paper was a lot easier to write in terms of length then I expected and didn’t take me very long at all. I think we had more then enough time in class working on the project and breaking it down into sections really helped. Looking at project 3 I think this is going to be like a cake walk compare to that.

weekly blog

this week class was very helpful. we spent a lot of time learning about project 2 and working on it. We pretty much did most of the work in class now i know all i have to do is put it all together and make it into an actual paper. Also i really liked meeting with Nikki because she was able to help me with a thesis and point out things about the paper that i might not have been able to think of on my own. Even though this project is more strict then the last one i still feel that it was be fairly easy. Also since we are doing peer review tuesday i know it will help me with my ideas and making them sound alright.

Weekly blog

This week in class we talked about project 2 a lot. I'm a little more nervous about this on then the last one. This one you can be wrong on and has to be a formal paper. Finding an add i easy but picking at every detail of it is crazy. I a really happy we are doing a large portion of this in class because i really think i am going to need more help. The one thing i didn't really like was the color thing with them having meaning. Yes some colors have meaning but most advertisers use a color because it makes there product stand out more. If there product is clear like the nuva ring ad i looked at they are going to tend to use lighter colors and white. No one is going to add a hot pink on a clear ad it just wouldn't look right. also they use color to make things stand out. f we all used white black and tans everything would be boring and nothing would catch your attention.

Blog 4 i think

This week in call we worked on our projects in class which I know really helped me finish mine on time. Making the power point and everything was pretty easy but being able to look around and see what everyone else was doing helped n the process of narrowing my options and seeing what I should add or take out. Then today we saw all the presentations it was pretty cool to see the different ways and the different things people did with the project. I kinda wish I was as creative as some of the people in the class when it came to projects. Every ones presentation were short and I hope that that was ok with her because she never really said what we were supposed to say. I'm a little nervous on how hard she is going to grade the papers because I now mine isn't a very strong well thought out paper. It is more of just all my idea and feelings thrown into sentences. This week was a pretty easy week and I think next week will be too.

Week 2 blog

Thursday in class we watch the video on copyright and fair use. The video was kind of interesting but in a way hard to understand. I think it is really useful information to u that we might not use right now but we will in the future. I also like how in class she helped us with our thesis because i always have trouble starting mine and her examples and correcting them really help get me started in the process. The Harry Potter thing was very interesting activity that went along with it. Although I am not a very big fan of the books and movies I think the author deserved to win the case, because don’t see it fair that someone can make money off her books. If she would have never wrote the books he would of never been able to make any kind of encyclopedia on it. Its not even like he is doing it for a school purpose he is just doing it to make money. Even though it took the judge so long to decide on this case I think he made the right one in the end. I’m almost finished with my project so I am getting excited to see everyone else’s presentations and how they came up with there ideas. I myself made a power point because that seemed the easiest to me but I’m looking forward to seeing the creative ideas people have come up with.

2) I have developed these over the years of being around them and threw people teaching me like the teacher or my dad or brother.

post for class

In yesterdays class we talked about this first project, which after reading all the projects description seems like the hardest for me. i'm not big on visual projects because my artistic skills are not very good. I hope that once i get the project rolling everything will kind of flow and i wont get stuck like i have on most of the other projects i had to do during high school. It seems like it is going o be a fun project, an watching everyone present seems kind of interesting. I think the hardest part of this paper is going to be making up a thesis statement because there are so many topics you can write about and making a thesis that fits them all is difficult. Tomorrow’s class will hopefully shed some light on good ways to write thesis statements and then I can start this project. Hopefully in the end this project won’t turn out to be a major disaster.

First Piece of Technology

the first piece of technology i can remember is snorkel and mini mouse mask that i used when i was at my grandparents. I think my grandpa got it for me but i can't remember exactly. Even though i only got to use it when i was at my grandparents i spent every moment in the pool with that thing strapped to my face and the snorkel coming out of my mouth and my little swimmies stopping me from going very far under the water. I'm not sure if it is still around because my aunt and uncle took the pool down this past summer and I'm not sure if they cleaned out the shed out not, and i haven't used them since i was like 10 so i guess i can't blame them if they did throw them away. I'm pretty sure my mom tossed the snorkel anyway after it got a crack in it from my brother and cousin always tossing it around. Just remembering this makes me want to call my aunt and see if the mini mouse mask is still in the shed. Snorkels and masks are still around today and are used for the same thing.

My name is Valerie Noga. I’m 18 and I grew up in a small town called Vernon in New Jersey. I graduated from Vernon Township High School and am now attending Kent State University. I'm hoping to become a nursing major and go on to have a nursing career go figure. My parents mean a lot to me because they have done the best they can to raise me and get me a good education. I have an older brother named Kenny who i barley talk to. He attends school at Juniata. My friends are my world though I dnk where I would be in life w\o them. I love to just be with them and go out to movies and hang outs. My best friend Ashley is still back in Vernon waiting for school to start. My boyfriend is trying to get into some branch of the military. He isn’t 100% sure if he wants to do marines or navy seals. I have a jr black belt in karate. Turns out karate is where I ended up meeting the best people in my life (my friends). I believe I am a pretty down to earth person, who tends to care more about how others feel then my own feelings. That’s pretty much all about me I’m also a pretty simple person.

The prosses was easy because i wrote the more personal one first so all i had to do was change the wording and make it sound more appropriate and take out all the slang terms and spelling mistakes. The first blog is more personal where i can use sarcasm and not worry about really spelling and i can use slang terms. The audience will get a more real version on me. I'm satisfied with both the blogs but i think the second one is less personal.

What I think about blogs?

I'm not sure what I think about blogs. I have never used them other then on myspace and faccebook, so I'm not very comftorable with them yet. I hope to get to learn how to use the blogs like they are second nature. I think blogging is going to be easier now that everything is set up and all i have to do is type how i feel into a tiny box and then hit publish post. I think the hardest part is going to be to remember to respond to peoples blogs and just to remember to write the blogs.
